Current TV
Current TV is the television channel founded by Al Gore and Joel Hyatt. We have been involved with the channel since the very begriming in 2004, building the technical infrastructure and helping to create the concepts.
According to Current's website: "Current is a new breed of cross-platform media company that works with its young adult audience to create and distribute content that informs, enriches and inspires. We believe media should be a two-way conversation and our fully integrated broadcast and online platforms make that possible. Current TV and Current.com work together to connect young adults with what's going on in their world through a unique blend of citizen journalism and viewer participation, offering programming and content that's authentic, often surprising and consistently compelling. Stéphane Savard, founder of savardFaire.tv has worked closely with Current from the early days in 2004 to create that unique network. Designing a completely new workflow and creating a unique Mac-based playout infrastructure was required to enable the unique design goals.
We built the complete facility with the collaboration of Ascent Media and went on air on scheduled on August 1st, 2005.
The breakthrough concept was so successful that Current accelerated it's reach to include new buildout in the UK (2007 in London) and in Italy (2008 in Milan). We have conceptualized, specked and realized all three complete network. Each time, we did enhanced the concept with the latest technology and adapted it to the reality of each market.
